Data Retention

We keep personal information only as long as needed to run the Service and for legal, accounting, or reporting needs. For most data, this means up to 2 years after your last interaction with us. Some data, such as tax or financial records, is retained for up to 7 years to comply with legal requirements. When data is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it. Deleted data may remain on backup media for up to 90 days after deletion (whether by request or natural expiry), after which it is permanently removed.

Security

We use safeguards to protect personal information, including encryption in transit, access controls, and ongoing monitoring. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to keep your information safe using industry best practices.

Where We Store and Process Data

All data is stored and processed in Ontario, Canada. Backups may be redundantly stored elsewhere in North America in encrypted form. Encryption keys remain solely in Ontario, Canada, and backup data cannot be accessed or read outside Ontario.

Fair Housing and Non-Discrimination

We do not allow discriminatory use of personal information. Introductions are based on your request details and the availability of licensed professionals. We do not filter, match, prioritize, or exclude people based on protected characteristics, including:

  • Race, ethnicity, or color
  • National origin or citizenship
  • Religion or creed
  • Sex, gender, gender identity, or sexual orientation
  • Disability or medical status
  • Marital or family status (including pregnancy)
  • Age

Our ad targeting, matching, and review processes are designed to follow fair-housing rules and platform policies. If you see behavior that does not meet this standard, including from one of our matched partners, please contact us immediately.

Special Situations

Some real estate transactions involve sensitive or complex circumstances that may require an agent with specific expertise. You may choose to share this information with us so we can match you more effectively, or you may choose not to disclose it. Either way, you can still use our Service. If you do share, examples include:

  • Purchases or sales by non-residents, including foreign buyer tax rules
  • Fully remote transactions when the client is far away
  • Selling a tenanted property
  • Selling a cluttered or hard-to-stage home
  • Selling during a divorce or separation
  • Estate sales or inheritance-related transactions
  • Homes that need accessibility or mobility features
  • Buying or selling an investment property with complex financing needs

Not all professionals in our network are equipped to handle every scenario. If your request involves one of these situations, we will do our best to match you with a professional who is prepared to assist. Sharing these details is optional, and we will never exclude you based on personal characteristics.

As part of the request form, we ask you to provide an estimated price range for your home (if selling) or the amount you expect to pay (if buying). This estimate is required to progress through the form, but it is not verified and is only used to match you with a suitable professional. If you do not adjust the slider, a default value is used. This information is never treated as an appraisal, credit application, or financial guarantee.

Children

The Service is not for children under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child provided data, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy. If we make important changes, we will post a notice on our site. The effective date at the top shows when it last changed.
